From the Council President
Your congregation council held our monthly meeting on July 12. Here are some notes from both the June and July meetings.
An audit of our financial books and processes was completed and shared with the Council at the June meeting. We prefer to do this every year as a best practice. We are happy to report that all looks great! Thank you to John Andersen, Blake Hardy, and Nanci Sande for completing this important work. Thank you to David Carlson and Anika Blum for their financial work in supporting Grace.
After getting off to a great financial start in the 1st quarter, we returned to typical lower giving in the 2nd quarter. For the first half of the year, giving is still ahead of budget, and expenses are under budget and only up slightly compared to last year! However, the building fund is still below budget which depletes our reserves on that fund. We appreciate everyone's support of Grace! We would love to continue to stay ahead of the curve and potentially have the ability to fund additional ministries. We anticipate sending out updated statements this month. THANK YOU!
Several new members have joined recently, including two baptisms last Sunday! We love to share in the ministry with newcomers! Remember to invite friends and neighbors to Grace when they are searching for a church and community where they can grow with God.
We continue to monitor the annexation process for the city of Adel and the impact to us. Recently the city received the approvals needed at the State level to take the next steps.
We were excited to review a proposal from our newly established Stewardship ministry. Watch for more news from the team coming soon!
