Adult Learning & Discipleship

In our busy, daily lives, we seek to grow, learn, and follow in the way of Jesus.

Adult learning and discipleship includes all the ways we nurture and nourish, deepen and live out our faith, including worship, prayer, spiritual practices, study, and service. Jesus shows us what it means to teach and learn in relationships. The life of faithful discipleship is wherever we are – home, work, school, events, with friends and family – and whenever we share the love and grace of God in Jesus Christ with each other and our communities. Grace offers regular opportunities for adult learning and discipleship. Please contact Pastor Tania for more information.

Bible Study on Tuesday Mornings

The Tuesday morning Bible Study meets from 9:00 to 10:30 am each week in the fellowship hall. The group frequently explores the weekly reading for worship, combining individual impressions and questions with information from theologians and historical sources. At other times, the group does a multi-week study. Everyone is welcome to join us for coffee, lively conversation, and laughter. Sometimes, we even have treats (okay, most of the time).

Wednesdays with Grace

On Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 6:30 pm, while the kids are in Christian Education, adults will often gather in the fellowship hall after the community meal for informal conversation or a discussion on the readings or a special topic. No preparation needed. Come as you are!

Sunday Forum

After worship on Sundays, folks usually gather in the fellowship hall for coffee, treats, and conversation. Once a month (or so), there is also a short presentation and discussion. Recent topics include Storytelling, the Adel Good Samaritan Food Pantry, our Prayer Ministry, the ELCA Youth Gathering, and DMARC.

Special Topics and Social Justice Education

Periodically, Grace will offer opportunities for in-depth study on a faith-based special topic or book of the Bible, usually in 4-6 sessions. Grace has also offered social justice education through JustFaith ministries on poverty awareness, racial equity, hunger, and care of God’s creation.
