Serve with Grace
Jesus said, “you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength… and love your neighbor as yourself.” -Mark 12:30-31
Our faith informs how we engage in and with the world – the ways we live out and share the love of God with others. Jesus calls us to love and serve each other and our neighbors, especially those who are in need, hungry, or hurting.

Sent into the World to Love and Serve in Jesus’ Name
In worship each week, after we have heard God’s word, received the presence of Christ in the bread and wine of Holy Communion, prayed for a world and people in need, and heard God’s blessing, we are sent back out into the world that God loves with the words of the dismissal: “Go in peace” to… love and serve the Lord … follow the way of Jesus … share the good news … shine the light of Christ.
As we are sent, we are reminded that when worship has ended, our service in the world has begun.
“But be doers of the word and not merely hearers” ~ James 1:22a
At Grace, we serve in many different ways, depending on our individual gifts, the people and issues that matter the most to us, and how God calls us to use those gifts in service. Each committee offers lots of opportunities to serve within Grace – in worship, Christian education, fellowship, and caring ministries. The Social Action committee [link to page] coordinates learning and service out in the community.
