Wednesday Night Christian Education
Wednesday night is “church night” for ADM schools, and we pack it full of activities and learning! Join us Wednesday evenings for worship, surrounded by food and education:
5:30 p.m. – Supper Families and friends gather around tables for a delicious meal cooked by somebody else(!), combined with opportunities to learn new and fun table graces—from Flintstones to Rock Around the Clock to Superman to … well, who knows what we’ll come up with next week! Free will donation.
- Christian Education Children in grades one through six scatter to one of several rotation stations, where three weeks of learning a Bible story may include cooking, videos, science, songs, plays, or games. Pre-K and Kindergarten children learn even more stories as they stay in their own classroom for stories, crafts and more.
- Adult Education Adults move into their own conversation about a variety of topics from Bible stories to current policy issues to tips for parenting and raising faithful children and more. Some topics are considered for only one evening; others span several weeks, but each week’s conversation is independent enough that adults can attend whenever they can without worrying that they’ll be “behind.”
6:35 p.m. – Worship Worship with Holy Communion and a time especially for children brings us together to sing and pray, to learn and be nourished, and to be sent out into the world to share God’s love with all.
7:20 p.m. – Confirmation Seventh and eighth grade youth meet to learn the basics of their faith, using the Bible, Martin Luther’s Small Catechism and their own questions in a safe place of exploration of biblical truths, the world’s values, and the kind of life to which Christ invites us and calls us. Following a two-year rotation between focus on the Bible and focus on the Small Catechism, students prepare to confirm their baptisms in the fall of ninth grade. Each student is also assigned a secret Prayer Partner who prays for them throughout the year. They have an opportunity to meet and thank their prayer partner at the end of the school year.

During Inclement Weather:
We have worship every Wednesday night, regardless of weather. Please use good judgment in deciding whether to attend during inclement weather.
However, the other Wednesday evening activities – supper, Christian Education, and Confirmation follow the ADM school district decisions. If school is cancelled or there is a weather-related early-out, supper, Christian Education, and Confirmation are also cancelled.
All are welcome to join either or both of two weekly Bible studies:
- Tuesday Morning Bible Study meets from 8:30 to 10:30 am each week. The group frequently considers the upcoming texts for worship, combining individual impressions and questions with information from theologians and historical sources. These text studies focus on the readings for the following Sunday, and each week is an independent study. At other times, the group does a multi-week study based on Bible or current issues studies or books about a variety of faith-related topics.
- Wednesday Evening Adult Christian Education meets from 6:00 to 6:30 weekly during the school year. Discussions surround a variety of topics, from Bible stories to current policy issues to tips for parenting and raising faithful children and more. Some topics are considered for only one evening; others span several weeks, but each week’s conversation is independent enough that adults can attend whenever they can without worrying that they’ll be “behind.”
Vacation Bible School
One week each summer is spent with pre-K through sixth grade children in five evenings of stories, games, songs, and more surrounding a theme.
